About Me

I am a textiles designer who specializes in knitwear, this year i will be graduating from The University of Derby with a BA Honors in Textiles Design.

My passion is seeing how far i can push the boundaries of both knitting and knitwear when it comes to adding unconventional materials to it. I like to experiment with a variety of different materials to test how they would work with knitting. Throughout my years at university i have experimented with a variety of different materials such as pom poms, metal washers, sequins, straws, loom bands and mosaic tiles. My inspiration for using unconventional materials comes from my love of fashion designer Paco Rabanne i am fascinated by his work in the 1960's, I love they way he created fashion using traditionally unconventional materials such as metal and plastic. His creations of this time inspired my recent collection of Knitted Loom Bands, i wanted to add unconventional materials to knitting and after many trails and error, i found loom bands to be the most suitable, due to their lightweight and flexible properties making them suitable for fashion.
